Ashtanga Mysore Yoga
This is the traditional form of Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga and these Ashtanga Mysore classes are ideal to learn and to start your own yoga practice.
Mysore is the city in southern India where Ashtanga Yoga originated.
The classes are customized to your level, needs, health and mental status.
Mysore class is for students of ALL levels of experience no matter what age, background or physical ability. ALL are welcome. The only requirement is the willingness to learn. Here is where you will LEARN the practice, so no previous knowledge is required.
Mysore is not a led class, instead you do your own practice individually. The teacher is available in the room assisting to customize the teaching to your needs.
Privat class in group setting
You will benefit from receiving direct one-on-one guidance from your teacher and you will grow in your practice with a gradual step-by-step approach respecting your unique pace and capability. With a little bit of time, your teacher and you will get to know each other, and the teacher will understand your unique needs and fine-tune practice according to your physical, energetic and mental constitution. Respecting your own pace and capability.
It is a very common misconception that you need to be a physically advanced Ashtanga practitioner in order to practice Mysore style. Ashtanga Mysore lessons are a great way (and THE traditional way) to learn the practice.
And especially when you are suffering from an injury, these are ideal lessons. Because you can practice at your own pace.
The mind and body need time to get used to Mysore Style Yoga. Discipline is therefore an important factor. You can't get there without it. Partly for this reason, we recommend that new students commit to a least giving Mysore Style Yoga a try for at least a month (at a minimum of two-three times per week, maybe in combination with the Ashtanga Led class).
Once you get used to your new lifestyle, you will be in top shape all day long.
If you feel intimidated by this, then you are welcome to get the instructor’s approval to observe the class first. You may also choose to participate in one of our immersions to Ashtanga Yoga before beginning your own Mysore practice.
