Veronica Fernandez

In 2004 I came to Barcelona from Buenos Aires (Argentina), in search of a change and with a desire to acquire experiences. That's how I started taking Hatha Yoga classes. Soon I was interested in deepening the study of Yoga so I conducted a teacher training course at YOGA STUDIO Barcelona. A year later, when I happened to attend an Ashtanga class, I immediately knew that it was there that I wanted to stay. My first steps as a student of Ashtanga I took by the hand of Nick Evans and Eva Oller, with whom I practiced the first 3 years. Later I was a student of Hojung Aurdenarde in his shala CasaAbhyasa. Over time I began to attend her classes and train as a teacher. There I began to teach and I continued doing it for 5 years. Later during 2014, I took the Mysore program in the afternoons in Sama Yoga Shala, directed by Aleix Griño.

During these 12 years of practice I have also studied and practiced with other authorized teachers such as Rolf Naujokat, Peter Sanson, Tomas Zorzo, Kranti, Yuya Sarashima, and many other teachers who have nurtured and taught me their personal visions of this practice and who made me grow as a teacher, student and person.

Since 2010 I have made several trips to Mysore, India to practice with Sharath Jois at KPJAYI. From him I received the Level 2 authorization (first and second complete series) to teach this practice in its traditional method in 2014.

Having found his true teachers, he has been returning there ever since for several months a year, currently practicing third series.

As a direct student of Sri K Pattabi Jois and Sharath Rangaswami his aim is to keep up the lineage alive and true to its origin.
In March 2009, Gibran was given the Authorization and Blessings to teach Ashtanga Yoga by the KPJAYI as the fi rst Mexican teacher.
In July-August 2010 he successfully completed Sharath Rangaswamis Teacher Training and was invited to assist him in December 2010 in Mysore.
